Terms of Service
Last updated: October 11, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and PDF Time [legal entity name is a placeholder - confirm the actual legal person, e.g. "[Your Name], doing business as PDF Time" or a registered company] ("PDFTime", "we", "us") governing your use of PDFTime at pdftime.io (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PDFTime lets you upload PDF files, arrange their order, and merge them into a single PDF for download. Processing happens on our servers; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle your files and how long we keep them. We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- You do not need an account to merge files, subject to the limits described at upload time. Creating a free account raises those limits and lets you keep files for longer, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@pdftime.io if you suspect unauthorized use.
- You must provide a real, working email address to register, and keep it up to date — it's how we deliver account security notices (verification, password reset) and, if applicable, billing notices.
3. Your files and content
- You own your content. We claim no ownership over the files you upload or the merged files we create for you. You retain all rights to them.
- License to process. By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, and process that file solely to provide the Service to you (i.e., to merge it and let you download the result). This license ends when the file is deleted under our retention rules or when you delete it or your account.
- Your responsibility for what you upload. You're solely responsible for the files you upload and confirm that you have the right to upload, merge, and download them. Do not upload anything you don't have the legal right to use, copy, or distribute.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or process content that is illegal, infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights, or that you don't have permission to use;
- Upload malware, or files crafted to exploit, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our systems or those of others;
- Attempt to circumvent upload, rate, or size limits, for example through automated scripts, multiple accounts, or other abuse of the anonymous or free tiers;
- Attempt to access another user's files, account, or download links without authorization;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or attempt to interfere with its normal operation, except as permitted under a responsible-disclosure or bug-bounty program we explicitly publish;
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate access for violating this section, and where required by law, we may report unlawful content to the relevant authorities.
5. Plans, limits, and fees
- The Service is offered on a free-to-use basis, with usage limits (file size, number of files, pages per job, and how often you can merge) that vary depending on whether you're signed in and which plan you're on. Current limits are shown in the product.
- Paid ("Pro") plan payments are processed by Stripe. [Paid plan terms are otherwise not yet finalized - payment processing is not yet integrated. Once available, this section must describe: pricing and billing frequency, auto-renewal, how to cancel, refund policy, and what happens to your files/limits if a subscription lapses or is downgraded. Lawyer to review before the paid plan launches.]
- We may change our fees or free-tier limits at any time; we will give account holders reasonable notice of material changes that affect them.
6. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable at times for maintenance, technical issues, or reasons outside our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime, except as required by law.
7. Intellectual property
The Service itself — including its design, code, and branding (excluding the files you upload) — is owned by PDFTime or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.
8. Termination
- You may stop using the Service, or delete your account, at any time. Account deletion is immediate and permanently removes your account and every file you own.
- We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us, or if required by law.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that merged files will be free of defects.
10. Limitation of liability
[Standard limitation-of-liability language goes here — e.g., to the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFTime will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, and total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or a fixed nominal amount for free users). This clause is jurisdiction-sensitive and some liability cannot be excluded by law in some regions (e.g. for gross negligence or death/personal injury) — lawyer must draft the final wording.]
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold PDFTime harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, the content you upload, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Governing law and disputes
[State the governing law and dispute-resolution process (courts vs. arbitration, venue) once the company's legal jurisdiction is decided. Lawyer to draft.]
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
